What is the study cost like in USA?

Tuition varies widely by university and program. As a guide, average published tuition and fees for 2025-26 were about US $45,000 per year at private non-profit universities, while international students at public universities typically pay around $30,000 per year or more (College Board, Trends in College Pricing 2025).
Master’s programs generally cost around $20,000 to $50,000 per year, and MBA and law programs are often higher. Many universities offer merit scholarships to international students that can reduce the cost significantly. All figures are indicative and change every year.

What is the living cost in USA like?

Most students should budget around US $15,000 to $22,000 per year for accommodation, food, transport, health insurance and personal expenses. Big cities such as New York, Boston, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles cost more, while smaller cities cost less. Each university states its estimated cost of attendance on the I-20, and you must show funds to cover it for your visa.

What are the job facilities like in US?

International students on an F-1 visa can work on campus up to 20 hours per week during semesters and full-time during official breaks. Curricular Practical Training (CPT) allows paid work connected to your course.
After graduation, Optional Practical Training (OPT) allows up to 12 months of work in your field, and graduates of STEM-designated degrees can extend this by a further 24 months – up to three years in total. In 2024/25, 294,253 international students in the US were working on OPT. On-campus jobs typically pay around $10 to $20 per hour, depending on the state and the job.

What are the Entry Requirement for Study in US?

English: most universities ask for IELTS 6.0–6.5 for undergraduate and 6.5–7.0 for postgraduate programs. TOEFL, PTE and Duolingo are widely accepted, and some universities offer conditional admission with English pathway programs.
Undergraduate: successful completion of HSC or A Levels with good results. The SAT is optional at many universities.
Postgraduate: a recognized bachelor’s degree, usually with a GPA of around 2.75–3.0 out of 4. Some universities require a 4-year bachelor’s degree (16 years of education), while others accept 3-year degrees. Some programs also require the GRE or GMAT.
Finances: you must show funds for at least the first year of study and living costs to receive your I-20, before applying for the F-1 student visa.
New visa rule: from 15 September 2026, F-1 students are admitted for the length of their program up to a maximum of four years (plus a 30-day grace period), instead of “duration of status”.
