Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is a technical university in Malaysia, with its main office on Jalan Sultan Ismail in Kuala Lumpur and specialist institutes across the Klang Valley and the southern and northern regions of Peninsular Malaysia. It was formed in 2002.
UniKL hosts more than 22,000 students from over 65 nationalities and focuses on engineering, engineering technology, aviation, information technology, business, and medicine and health sciences.

Entry requirements for international students
- Foundation (after SSC/O-level, 11 years of schooling):
- Medicine: Grade B in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology plus one other subject, and Grade C in English plus one other
- Business: Grade C in five subjects, including Mathematics and English
- Science and Technology: Grade C in five subjects, including Mathematics and one science
- Information Technology: Grade C in five subjects, including Mathematics
- Diploma (after SSC/O-level): Grade C in Mathematics, English, one science, vocational or technical subject and two or three others (Aircraft Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiography and other diplomas).
- Bachelor’s (after HSC/A-level, 12 years of schooling):
- Business and Management: Grade C (60%) in any two subjects, with a pass (50%) in Mathematics and English at SSC
- Information Technology: Grade C (60%) in any two subjects, with Grade C (60%) in Mathematics at SSC
- Engineering and Engineering Technology: Grade C (60%) in Mathematics and one science subject
- Medicine, Allied Health and Medical Science Technology: Grade B (85%) in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics
- Master’s and PhD: requirements are set per programme.

UniKL also accepts PTE, MUET and Cambridge English. Diploma and bachelor’s applicants without an English score are enrolled in the English Language Intensive Programme (E-LIP). Requirements as of October 2026 and subject to change.
Application and costs
- Initial enrolment fee: RM 2,200, due within 2 weeks of your offer letter, to start your student visa application.
- Visa Approval Letter (VAL): UniKL applies through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS); processing takes 3 to 9 weeks.
